It's a "G" Thing, Baby. Gambling, Glitz, Glamour, and Grand
Las Vegas is arguably one of the most well-known cities in the world. Having grown out of a railroad stop in the desert and blossoming with construction of the Boulder (now Hoover) Dam the city evolved into the dazzling metropolis that it is today. Even if you have never been to Las Vegas you are probably familiar with it from movies and television. Over one hundred movies have featured the city and let’s be honest – we all know that whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!
Las Vegas is the place to go for entertainment. It offers world class gambling, sensational shows, mouth-watering food, and outstanding shopping all under millions of twinkling lights. It is a feast for all the senses!
From the moment you arrive in the airport there are slot machines waiting for you. When you arrive at your hotel, you will find dozens of gaming tables - blackjack, craps, roulette and more spread throughout. No matter where you go in greater Las Vegas you will have an opportunity to gamble.
For those of you who are not big gamblers, never fear, this city that TRULY never sleeps has plenty for you to do, too!
If you love to shop you will find everything from luxury brands to the world’s largest souvenir shop and everything in between.
Dining in Las Vegas is an experience. In the past most hotels offered a coffee shop, a buffet, and maybe a themed restaurant. Today, along the strip, you will find quick-service, buffet and chain restaurants from over 40 celebrity chefs.
For stage productions, Las Vegas never disappoints! You can find a showroom in almost every hotel. Whether you are a fan of music, comedy, acrobatics, or magic there are shows for you. Be sure to check out some off-Strip hotels for more intimate venues. You may find a true gem with a smaller audience.
Las Vegas also offers a variety of activities and entertainment that are a bit more “off the beaten path” for a city known for glitz and glamor. Art galleries and museums will give you a glimpse into another side of the city. The Mob Museum and The Neon Museum are two of my favorites! Both offer a glimpse into the city’s storied past while sitting in the shadow of the present.
I would be remiss to not mention some outdoor activities. While most of us visit Las Vegas for the casinos and nightlife I always like to find a way to get some fresh air. The Grand Canyon, Lake Mead, Red Rock Canyon, and Mount Charleston are all within a short drive, offering plenty of options for hiking, biking or paddling.
Let’s face it, a visit to Las Vegas is in the cards for you. A simple phone call to the team at Avondale Travel and you are all in. Whether you want to go with a pair, two pairs or a full house, we can customize a perfect itinerary for you. Now it’s your move.
